He will be performing with Roscoe Mitchell and George Lewis, the Streaming Trio, as part of this year's Edgefest in Ann Arbor, MI, which also includes shows by Vijay Iyer and Rudresh Mahanthappa, as well as BassDrumBone with Gerry Hemingway, Mark Helias and Ray Anderson. I might have to make the drive for that one.
Roscoe recently played a show at UMass and it was reviewed.
Henry Grimes was interviewed after his show with Cecil Taylor and Andy Bey.

Just waiting in Los Angeles for 30 years, holy moly. The Roscoe Mitchell Trio review is great too; echoes my experience of Mr. Mitchell's recent performance here in Albuquerque.
re: saving jazz. By all means, save jazz, save it from jazz education. save it from the neo-mainstream movement. that's really saving it. whatever *it* is.
